The General build

Vinyl flooring is made up of different layers, around six of them in a sheet.

1) The base layer acts as protection for the sheet.
2) Fiberglass is added in most cases to provide strength and ensure the sheet is flat.
3) Cushion layer adds softness and makes the vinyl flooring bouncy in nature, making it ideal for Gym flooring.
4) Pattern layer has the colors and designs that enhance the appearance of the floor.
5) Wear layer supports the pattern and prevents it from being damaged by wear and tear and heavy usage.
6) Top coat is the outermost layer that not just protects the inner layers but also adds sheen to the sheet, enhancing its visual appeal.

Types

Vinyl flooring is available in three types:

a) Tiles: It is an efficient flooring option and is very easy to install. Even homeowners can install it themselves. It can just be laid over an existing floor.
b) Plank: These are longer and harder types, they can be laid on existing floor or glued together.
c) Sheet: This is a common option, especially in Industrial flooring. It is durable and has to be laid carefully with the edges glued. Installing sheets needs a lot of care to prevent mistakes. It is better to get it down by professionals.

Vinyl flooring is undoubtedly the best option for flooring in the market, irrespective of the application used.
